This is the Snider bullet that was in service for the longest period and the one encountered most archaeologically.

This mark 9 bullet is unfired.


Snider mark 9, fired

  • Weight (without plug): 467 gn (30.2 g)

  • Length: 0.987 in (25.1 mm)

Another fired Snider bullet with only very slight engraving from the rifling. The stamp on the interior appears to be ‘V1’.
